ImMEDIAte Justice Takes Part in Margaret Cho’s New Music Video!
imMEDIAte Justice is really excited to have a new friend- Margaret Cho. Margaret Cho became a superstar supporter when The Sexting Bundle announced that profits from the sale would go to imMEDIAte Justice. Our Co-Founder Tani Ikeda is directing Margaret Cho’s new music video and gave mentors and mentees a chance to help out on set of the video. Paola Hernandez is a fierce photographer, youth leader, and IMJ veteran. Paola was lucky enough to be one of the few randomly selected mentees invited on set of Margaret Cho’s new music video. She shares her thoughts with us:
“Last Sunday Tani invited a couple of the mentees to help on the set of the Margaret Cho music video that she was directing. I was fortunate enough to be chosen to help out. I do see myself pursuing film in the future and hopefully making a career out of it plus the shoot was definitely an experience. I got to really see the technical aspect of filmmaking and how everyone comes together to finish a project. A three-minute music video literally took 12 hours to shoot. There were probably 100+ people on the set and every single person kept busy. Not one person was sitting down, well except for lunch. I love the fact that mostly everyone on the shoot was volunteering their time and talent to make this music video happen. At one point of the day I approached Tani and told her, “I can’t believe you’re pulling this all off, you’re like 10 people in one body” and she just smiled and said, “No, I just have a great team.” Tani is so humble and I’d really like to thank her for giving me such a great opportunity. I got to document the shoot with my camera and now have bragging rights when friends comes over and asks for proof. I love immediate Justice and all of the doors it is starting to open for me . “
